If you’re launching a collection on VVV, one of the questions you’ll face is:
“Do I need to upload metadata?”
The answer depends on whether your collection has traits. Here's a breakdown.
You do not need to upload metadata. Just upload your artwork. VVV will auto-generate the necessary metadata for you.
This is the easiest path. If your pieces are all 1/1s, or editions with no visual variation between items, you're good to go with just the art files.
You’ll need to upload metadata files that define those traits.
This is what enables things like filters, rarity sorting, and visual layers in the viewer. Each NFT needs a metadata file that matches its corresponding artwork file, using matching numbers only (no names or special characters).
